    • identifying sections of pipeline networks with a potentially hazardous accidental damage and subject to control and primary diagnosis of the technical condition;

    • Development of techniques: o organizing and conducting research to determine the efficiency of application of the corrosion protection methods, methods of determination of the technical condition of electrochemical protection facilities.

  • development:

    • STT/STS for carrying out activities relating to the exploitation of pipeline transportation facilities and standard technical solutions to provide and ensure and corrosion prevention of trunk line, field and process pipes;

    • ininstructions/rules for anticorrosion work; o instructions/rules for corrosion protection work;

    • instructions/methods for the choice and use, technologies to repair places of damage to factory-coated pipes, with respect to temperature environment of pipeline construction and use; o decision-making support for risk assessment of trunk oil pipelines operation.

  • working out typical plans for prevention of oil spills at the linear part and subsea transitions of trunk oil lines; regulations for developing plans for emergency oil spill response at oil and petroleum production, treatment and transfer facilities (including oil product pipeline water crossings in the territory of commodity parks);

  • creation of programs/regulations for certification of process and ancillary pipelines, calculating the safe life cycle of pipelines, and recommendations to support the decision-making to assess the remaining life cycle of the safe and trouble-free work of pipeline sections;

  • development of a pipeline integrity information and analysis system (IAS) and a database of pipeline status;
  • development of energy saving technology and recommendations; creating "Lean Production" and waste disposal concepts; developing requirements for energy surveying of facilities/technical system analysis of energy use of facilities;

  • - working out methods for determination of the technical state of electrochemical protection means; and testing new means of Electrochemical Protection;

  • Development:

    • of environmental policies, territorial waste management schemes, energy policies (taking into account the energy considerations (energy considerations) in long-term planning);

    • programs/regulations for quality control at facilities; o programs/regulations for quality control procedures at facilities;

    • recommendations on the implementation of energy-saving technologies;

    • "Lean Manufacturing" and waste treatment;

    • recommendations on how to prepare the said section for the objects under general overhaul.

  • involvement in the revision of national as well as industry design standards and building regulations in the field of: environmental protection, safety and monitoring, protection against corrosion; creation and update of normative and engineering design documents of OJSC VNIIST in the field of environmental protection, corrosion protection of the pipelines and facilities of the Fuel and Energy Complex;

  • development of software for certain calculation tasks related to the corrosion and electrochemical protection, computer software for the electrochemical protection of trunk and field pipelines; development of software for repair and recovery planning at the MT corrosion damaged sections; software for diagnostics, design and database formation formation

  • analytical treatment of the results of analytical processing of the corrosion diagnosis of the linear part of the main oil pipelines, subsea crossings and process equipment of oil pumping plants and reservoir parks; estimation and forecasting of the technological state of the objects of the main oil pipeline system according to the results of complex diagnosis surveys;

  • elaboration and improvement of the scientific and technical documentations in the field of technical diagnostics and anticorrosive defense of the trunk oil pipelines system;

  • improvement of anti-corrosion coverage of oil and natural gas pipeline facilities and extension of their life span of safe operation;

  • carrying out expert reviews of design project documentation for the construction, expansion, reconstruction, technical upgrading, preservation and elimination of hazardous production facilities; carrying out expert reviews of industrial safety declarations; other papers related to the operation of hazardous industrial facilities; internal expert reviews of regulatory and engineering documents in the field of designing, constructing and operating pipelines.
